The industrial estate of Lannion houses several multinational corporations, such as Nokia and Orange, and numerous smaller businesses which are specialist in telecoms, photonics and electronics. The IUT has established partnerships with these companies, providing our departments’ access to state-of-the art equipment as well as pedagogical collaborations with professionals.
What diploma do we deliver ? B.U.T. : Bachelor University of Technology
The B.U.T is a three-year nationally recognized qualification.Students complete a wide range of general courses (Math, English and Communication Skills) and scientific or technical courses. The training alternates CM (lectures), TD (tutorials) and TP (practical work). The students benefit from an important pedagogical and methodological support. The 3rd year, which is professional, includes specific courses focused on technology and projects. They can spend a period abroad (study semester or internship in a company). Students spends 70% of the 2000 contact hours provided over the three-year period on vocational courses and 30% on general courses. In addition, a three-to five-month internship is required at the end of the three-year period. As can be seen, this curriculum strongly emphasizes industrially relevant practical and hands-on work.
